The hot isothermal forging (HIF) production line is a seamlessly integrated system with no interfaces at all. Our innovative approach is designed based on circular multi-vacuum chambers. In the chamber of the hot isothermal forging (HIF) production line, the temperature between the workpiece and the die remains stably synchronized throughout the forging process. Due to the adoption of vacuum heating furnace technology, the upper and lower molds and workpieces can be heated simultaneously, thus achieving this balance. A notable innovation point is the insulation of the mold through ceramic blocks. These ceramic blocks are highly efficient, especially when subjected to tremendous forging forces. In addition, thermal insulation materials also play a significant role in protecting the components of the press from overheating. The characteristic of the hydraulic system of the forging press is to strictly control the strain rate, thereby achieving precise speed and forging force control. The system was designed with the energy-saving concept in mind and is equipped with a dynamic response system of the hydraulic unit, thereby optimizing the overall performance.
The heating furnace is equipped with multi-zone heating elements, which can achieve precise temperature control and uniform heating. To ensure the best quality of the final product, a monitoring system for workpieces and molds was adopted. The vacuum system equipped with an integrated mechanical vacuum pump and filtration unit can achieve the vacuum degree level required for the thermal isothermal forging process. The energy management system includes the power supply of the furnace, auxiliary power supply and operating system, ensuring the seamless operation of the entire forging process. To supervise and manage the entire HIF thermal isothermal forging production line, we have adopted a control and monitoring system and integrated it into a broader digital framework. In addition, this system is also supported by SMS's "Fault Diagnosis Information Indication Management System" digital platform, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and reliability of the forging process.
The new type of thermal isothermal forging production line is an intelligent solution that can be used to produce turbine parts required by the aircraft and aerospace industries under vacuum conditions, as well as high-temperature components for power plant turbines.
