The American automotive parts manufacturer Tenneco, which specializes in emission control, suspension and powertrain systems, recently launched a new production line at its industrial park in Aguascalientes. The investment for this project amounts to 23 million US dollars (approximately 426.8 million pesos).
The expansion project, code-named "Bowling", will increase the annual production of automotive valves from 50 million pieces to nearly 85 million pieces, strengthening the integration role of this region in the global production system. The new production line's commissioning will also bring about 150 new job positions and introduce advanced technologies and deepen cooperation with the local supply chain. Nathan Bowen, Executive Vice President and President of Clean Air Business of Tenneco, emphasized that the factory has received a cumulative investment of 65 million US dollars over the past five years, and the three local factories have created a total of 1,300 job positions.
It is worth noting that Tenneco was acquired by Apollo Global Management for $7.1 billion in November 2022. The transaction price was approximately 100% higher than the stock price. Under the new equity structure, Tenneco is accelerating its operations and production transformation, and continuously enhancing its global expansion capabilities and competitiveness.
