Recently, GEC Heavy Industries successfully developed the world's largest mechanical hot die forging press - the 168 meganewton hot die forging press, and it has been put into production. This marks that China's ultra-large-scale intelligent forging equipment and process technology have entered the forefront of international development. This project is handled by Sidu Equipment, a subsidiary of GEC Heavy Industries.

The dual-configuration equipment, through key technology research and development for all equipment along the line and digitalization empowerment, has successfully broken through core technologies such as the pre-stress combined frame of large wedge-type press machines, ultra-large output torque clutch and brake, and multi-sided guiding structure with anti-bias-load function. This high-level ultra-large intelligent forging equipment has been successfully developed. It meets the high-strength forming requirements of ultra-long and ultra-wide automotive mold forging parts for users, as well as the needs for high efficiency and high reliability in operation and maintenance. It will provide stable supply of high-quality automotive front axles, crankshafts and other key parts for FAW Forging (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., effectively ensuring the independent control of key components of domestic high-end heavy-duty vehicles, and providing strong support for the high-end, intelligent and green development of major technical equipment.
The user stated that the dual equipment not only produced advanced and high-end major technological equipment, but also set a record of completing the single-machine debugging tasks of the main machine, edge trimming machine, bending machine, and roll forging machine within 24 days. This fully demonstrated the professional technical level and excellent work style of the heavy equipment team.
