Project Acceptance of Titanium Alloy Die Forgings for High-speed EMU Bogies!

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Qinghai Province organized experts to conduct the acceptance inspection of the provincial key research and development and transformation plan project "Research and Development of Titanium Alloy Die Forgings for 400KM High-Speed EMU Bogies" undertaken by Qinghai Zhongtai Qingduan Equipment Manufacturing Co., LTD.

In response to the demands for weight reduction, anti-corrosion and high strength of the bogie of the new-generation CR450 EMU with a speed of 400 kilometers per hour, the project has carried out the research and development of large-sized TC4 titanium alloy bars and beam die forgings. It has broken through the manufacturing process of large-sized TC4 titanium alloy bars (φ400mm grade) and bogie beam die forgings, and the low-temperature impact load at -40 ℃ is ≥20.5J. The tensile strength at 400℃ is 640.5MPa, the tensile strength at room temperature of the forging is 985MPa, and the yield strength at room temperature is ≥890MPa. After heat treatment, the hydrogen content of the forging is 17ppm, achieving a breakthrough in the manufacturing of large die forgings of titanium alloy for high-speed rail bogie beams in China. After the project is completed, compared with traditional steel casting or steel plate welding bogies, titanium alloy bogies have higher strength, lighter weight and better corrosion resistance. Based on the application scenarios of the world's fastest CR450 bullet train, multi-speed level and multi-form scientific research tests and evaluations will be carried out The operation speed, energy consumption, noise inside the vehicle and braking distance of the sample car feature higher speed, greater safety, higher energy efficiency, greater comfort and greater intelligence compared with the previous generation of vehicles, adding core technological chips to the "China High-Speed Rail" brand.
